About the process...

Life is full of ups and downs, every human being goes through challenges and difficulty, and at times  those challenges and difficulties become overwhelming. I trained as a therapist because I experienced my own life challenges and found not only support from the process of therapy, but also a much greater sense of myself. Leonard Cohen sang, 'there's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in'. A decision to begin therapy often, if not always, begins with a crack, but without that crack an opening to a different world, a different way of living may never offer itself. It would be too easy to say that therapy makes you feel better, yes, sometimes it does, but it is more real to say that therapy supports you whilst you learn to feel your way forward.

When I work with you, alongside an ability to listen, I bring energy, gentle challenge, creativity, a ready smile and a warm heart. Whilst this is your space, my varied life experience is likely to inform and nourish the work we do together.

I will be bringing with me my trainings in psychosynthesis counselling, mindfulness and compassion and Pesso Boyden Therapy to support me in supporting you. My continuing professional development is something I feel passionate about. I carefully select trainings and workshops which further enhance and stimulate my work, whilst choosing retreats and personal development work which keep me grounded and growing myself. I am committed to walking my own path, seeing where it unfolds, keeping me honest and humble in our work together.

Mediums of working:

I include pictures of nature on my website because I find the outdoors to be a deeply relational place. However, my mediums of working are varied and you can choose to have a session with me in person, outdoors, or online. I am committed to accessibility and choice, and see online and telephone therapy as an important part of my offering.

Next steps....

If you would like to know more please do contact me. We can have a short telephone conversation to see what your needs are and whether we are a good fit to work with one another. I remember the moment when I called a therapist to ask for support. It took courage, but it was also the beginning of a fuller, more meaningful and feelingful life.
